    Squirrel (Rodent) Damage

My local independent auto repair shop made the repair. They only charged 2 hr. labor, $140. I had checked to see if my comprehensive insurance coverage with State Farm would cover it and they said it would, but the deductible was $500 so no claim was filed.

    Squirrel (Rodent) Damage

While parked outside during a 10-day cold snap and waiting on a carrier-bearing replacement, some squirrels built a nest under the hood of my '12 TRD OR Tacoma. Apparently they were hungry as well as cold. Below is the damage done to the wiring bundle that extends through the firewall. This...

    the climate crisis...

Search "Weather Weapons", if even a portion is true, just wait till November approaches. And remember what happened in Maui. (I better be careful, 'don't want another Banning.) I was out at the acreage in NE OK 5 years ago when a wildfire approached, with 10% humidity, a red-flag burn ban in...

    Bought a '24 SR5

Here's a 265/70-17 spare stowed. It looks too low to me. While a 33" OD spare will fit, any tire greater than 10.2" in body width will be a clearance issue. BTW the 245 has about 3" of clearance to the exhaust resonator, and the 265 has only about 2". Real offroaders might just plan on bed...

    Bought a '24 SR5

This shows a "full-size" 245/70-17 stowed underneath, tight but ok for most purposes.

    Bought a '24 SR5

I think you're right about the trim level/spare application downgrade (hard to tell until they update their spec's). But I'll later post some pics showing the very tight fit underneath. And I can't imagine the TRD's to be any different regarding possible clearance problems of the stowed spare...

    Bought a '24 SR5

That's me & the thread I started he's talking about, on the TW site. And then I got banned.

    Bought a '24 SR5

I snagged it in OKC before delivery from GST. Of course, I had to accept about $1500 of unwanted distributor "options". It's my 3rd blue Tacoma, I just can't get excited about ice-cap white or black. But I was surprised to get it equipped w/ the skinny, useless & unsafe temp donut spare...

? is the center-support (carrier) bearing the source of the current taco ills + vibes

Yes, and a really cold snap kind-of finished it off for me. But in retrospect, 12 years & 169K miles isn't bad for any mostly-rubber product under harsh conditions.

    Bought a '24 SR5

Duno, but it's now obvious to me my woke skills are very lacking. And now I'm 2 old 2 change & really don't care to conform to such. Maybe I'll fit in better here.

    the climate crisis...

Just mentioned the climate on another 4um, and well, "that's a BANNING". 30 days worth!

? is the center-support (carrier) bearing the source of the current taco ills + vibes

Just finished rebuilding the drive shaft of my 2nd gen '12 TRD OR. After 169,000 miles the carrier bearing was shot, all 3 u-jts were OK, but repl w/ Spicer u-jts anyway. My credo; always repair as best as possible, parts are cheap compared to labor & aggravation. It runs extra smooth again.

    Tacoma World vs Tacoma Forum

Joined TW, started a thread about the unsafe temp spares being installed on the '24 SR & SR5's and got banned in less than a wk. Apparently no free speech on that forum! BTW, Toyota's own published spec's specify a "full size" spare for the SR5.

    Bought a '24 SR5

Bought this '24 SR5 Taco, joined another 4um, started a thread & got banned in less than a wk. Yikes, is this common?
