Welcome to the forum. There are lots of great ideas all over the forum. Just a suggestion... Take the time to search and read. You'll find answers a lot faster than waiting for people to answer you.
BFG KO2's, depending on what lift and size tire you get will determine the rim size ie. width...
I just purchased the Tacoma I've always wanted. I purchased the 03 prerunner double cab 4cyl. It's completely stock.
I want to personalize t a bit, and the first thing on my list is to get a lift kit on it to get a nicer look with custom wheels and maybe a size bigger in tires.
Any advice on...
Yeah at the time I didn't have much knowledge on liftkits, if I was on this forum earlier I would have took the advice of many on here and bought that OME lift kit the first time.... well I learned my lesson haha!
I have the tuff country 4" lift kit on my truck. It's not bad, but it doesn't give any suspension performance for your tuck. It's purely for looks and fitting bugger tires. I'm personally saving for the OME lift kit a lot of the guys have on here. But if you don't plan on off-roading a lot then...
There is no way to guarantee no issues with any mod. There are liftkits that are made for your Tacoma that will give you the look you want and function you need.
As far as what kits I'd recommend depends on your budget. Ultimately I'd do:
Old man emu(OME) BP-51 $3200
Or
King OEM performance...
I would not get a spacer kit for your current set up.
Like Mjp2 said liftkits and leveling kits both lift the truck and are considered a type of suspension lift.
You can level it with coils and bilstein 5100's and have a better ride then spacers and it's not going to be that much more expensive...
I have 2 g's in my 3in. lift. Got the Toytec coilovers for 630.00. Paid 575.00 for my Fabtech uca's then I put Dakars in the back...420 something and the shocks, 5100's were 160 for the pair. Gotta figure in shipping unless you can get it free. Realtruck has free shipping, Wheeler's doesn't...
Just wanted some input on the best bang for buck 3" liftkits. Toyota is pushing the Toytec Boss liftkits for 2600 CAD. Just wondering what you guys think is the best deal? Thanks
I wonder if thats not enough drop on the cb.
Ive got around 2" of rear lift and the arb/ome cb drop worked for me.
Theres a guy who has some larger cb drop kits out there, maybe u need 1. Or combine with axle shims...
Hey! SO, first of all, I'm not a first time taco owner I've had one in the past and she saved my butt in an accident.
I'm considering getting another one as a toy for off road, and I'm looking at a '08 TRD Sport. My previous truck was a '11 TRD Sport and could handle almost anything you threw...
You mean the differential drop? I'm not expert, but I've heard that it all has to do with the angle driveshaft after a lift. They do sell those differential drop kits. What kind of lift kit did you get for this truck?
"bilstein 5100's or OME, leveling kits are spacers and are junk." ;) Whippersnapper02
With that said:
I have a 2017 TRD OR DCLB that has the revtek pro 40013. The off-road already has decent Bilstein's. As far as ride it will keep the stock feel and give you 3" in front and 1.5 in rear leveling...
I have an '08 Tacoma and I am looking to lift it, but not spend a fortune. I was thinking a 3" or 3.5" lift and it would be used on moderate off-road trails. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
