21st century

My cable company just terminated our land phones, and supplied us with an android 16 smart phone. I was told it takes a week before my original phone number is fully activated in their system for the change over. I can make calls out, but no one can call me back for a week. WTF??
All I was told welcome to the 21st century given an online site to load how to use my phone. I'll be fertilizer before learning all the bs this phone does.

I never used any type of camera in my lifetime...why do you think I should I start taking pictures now? This phone talks, but doesn't tell me how to work it. It keeps saying.... hello moto, hello moto, hello moto. I'm on the verge of chucking it against a wall to shut it up. I want my land line phones back!

The one-week wait is standard for "wireline to wireless" transfers because the old landline infrastructure doesn't sync instantly with the mobile network. It's frustrating, but it's basically an automated hand-off between two completely different types of tech. Just keep the old landline plugged in if you can, sometimes the calls still go there until the very last second when the port completes.

Well I guess thats all bs I've been told. As of last night I was able to get my old land line phone number transferred to my cell phone. Total time was about 30 hrs....not a week. Phone is working more normal...I can call out, and people have been calling me using my old land line number.
I still get this ai voice greeting me ''hello moto'' several times when the phone rings.

Raining right now, but still about a foot of snow here, but expecting 3'' more this weekend. Been around 40 degrees for a few days.
I can finally get my trailer out as it's been buried big time under a snowdrift. About a week ago I got out the tractor, and dug around it creating a 7' wide path to the driveway so I can eventually tow it out.

you've had snowcover more than a month!

it so damned dry AF here with the high winds today there is EXTREME danger of wildfire hazards

I added a 2nd line to our mobile cable company transferring the wifes phone number over to one of their new android phones I got her. Her new phone now works great for calling out only, but she can't answer any in coming calls. We try a number of things to correct the issue, but none work. I ended up taking a ride over to the cable company/phone provider this noon to have one of their techs to check it out. He basically checks all the same stuff we did, coming to the conclusion its got a faulty SIM card. Not knowing wtf a SIM card is, I look at him, and shrug my shoulders. In the meantime he takes the phone apart to pull the SIM card, and finds its got no dam SIM card, saying to me I found the problem. Now only a cable company with bozo's could sell you a perfectly good non working phone that has no SIM card....Being in the 21 century sure sucks.
