98 Taco loses electrical. Any thoughts?

Hi. New here and was hoping someone might have experience re: this issue. Truck runs fine but sometimes when I try to start it I got nothing. No lights. No starter. All electrical dead. After fiddling with the key, trying to turn lights on, playing with the steering wheel lock, it just comes back and starts fine. Clutch interrupt switch no longer in the equation. Also I find that after it comes back my radio has lost its program. I'm going to buy a Power Probe but thought I'd ask the forum first. Thank you for any ideas you can send my way.
 
P.S.
If it's just a bad ignition switch, why do I lose power to all my lights. Just bench tested the starter and was fine.
 
Check the electrical part of your ignition switch, if you have 12+v at your battery and your starter connections I would start there
