Ok guys, I'm really getting confused with this oil W. My taco is a 03 2.4L with 160,000 miles on it. I thought heavier oil is better for a high mileage taco. I use 20-50W in my truck. Now I keep reading that only 5-20W should only be used. So what is the golden answer here???
Thanks!!

Depending where you live or use your truck 5w30 is good for most of the country. 5W20 is better for northern climates like canada. That 20w50 is great for harelys, but not very good for a tacoma engine, especially if looking to get any decent fuel economy.

So 5w30 is the winner. I'm old school and always thought heavy oil is best for older auto's. I always use Castrol for everything.
Ok....thank you!

The oil you're using is so thick you're going to damage the engine. Your oil pressure sending unit is going to explode and all your oil is going to dump out the side of the motor. Get that crap out of there. 0w-40 Mobil one is the secret sauce. It gives you terrific oil pressures even when towing, and it won't be molasses at startup. That stuff you put in there create such severe pressure and it's not flowing through the tight orifices. Get it out ASAP and don't ever do that again. Use Purolator synthetic filters or OEM filters from the dealer.
