No, the 2026 Toyota Tacoma is not getting a new V6 engine. While there were rumors and speculation about the return of a V6, Toyota has confirmed the 2026 Tacoma will continue with the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Yep...ran into a friend thats a toyota tech from a local dealer over the weekend. They have been hearing about this fake bs also. Toyota has told them 2026 will still be powered by the 4 banger turbo. Makes me wonder if toyota is being goosed into bring the v6 back that this 4 cylinder 4th gen has been a failure..

The 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine just ended the 200,000 mile Toyota without any motor problems. My factory V-6 has 112,000 miles on it with the same plugs, I've heard other Tacoma's having 300,000 miles without any problems with the motors. That turbo motor in my opinion will never make it that far.

While I don't have any where near that mileage on my 3rd gens 3.5 v6, it's been flawless with amazing performance for a normally aspirated 3.5 engine. I've run it pretty hard at times running against bigger cu in vehicles giving their owners fits.

For about a year there was this fake story circulating about a Freightliner Pick up for under $10,000. The picture was of $150,000 custom built toy hauler four-door with a Chevy pick up Dually bed on the back. Leather interior TVs hanging from the ceiling in the backseat. It got so bad that Freightliner corporate published a document dispelling it once and for all.

I kind of recall that...it was quite a few years ago. Over the decades, all sorts of concept vehicles keep popping up, but nothing comes of it.
Seems lately with this AI starting to take hold, some emails I've been receiving are getting to look authentic coming straight from the manufacture. This latest toyota gen4 tacoma bs had me totally fooled.....it looked so real.

I still think that canyon is one sharp AF looking pickup...other than the stoopid 4 door
And truth be it told there has Not been a sharper looking smaller pickup like that since the 1997 Toyota tacoma 4wd
ask me how I know this to be true fact ...

I don't know about the long quality of this canyon, though...
It might just be a junk piece of junk o_O

Gm must be doing something well with the canyon, and that chevy colorado. There's a slew of those newly restyled trucks on the roads here. Except for a zillion gen3 tacoma's, you'd be lucky to see one, or two 4th gen tacoma's all week.
I can tell you one thing, those chevy, and gmc mid size trucks have big power for only a 2.7 4 banger vs the toyota's turbo 4.

The standard Colorado truck engine, while also a 2.7-liter turbo engine, makes 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the Chevy TurboMax engine still makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

The Tacoma steps up with a standard i-FORCE 2.4L turbocharged powertrain, giving a 278 hp & the i-FORCE MAX producing 326 hp.
The Tacoma offers higher available horsepower and torque values vs the colorado.

Yeah, but hardly anyone here that I/ve seen goes for the standard 2.7 motor. They buy upper line 4wd models that have the big hp. Its kind of a moot point.
