Been seeing lots of new 4x4 rangers, colorado trail boss's, and gmc canyon's on our roads lately....hardly no 4th gen taco's. Up till 2023 the taco was king around here for new trucks. Has toyota lost their way in the mid size truck market?
Gotta admit those desert sand dune chevy colorado trail boss's kill the looks of those 2025 tacoma's.

Heck no, just trying to gin up some activity for this forum. Got a bunch of views, but so far you're the only hater thats responded.
Still, I'm pretty sure from what I've seen so far around here, gm, and ford are eating toyota's lunch when it comes to their styling vs those 4th gen taco's.

I’ve noticed the same shift lately—used to see Tacomas everywhere, especially the third gens. But now the Colorado Trail Boss and even the new Ranger seem to be taking the spotlight. Could be that Toyota played it a bit too safe with the 2025 redesign, while others leaned into aggressive styling and tech. Mid-size buyers now seem to expect more off-road capability straight from the factory, and that’s where Chevy and Ford are hitting the mark. That said, reliability still leans Toyota’s way, but it might not be enough anymore. For those comparing builds or just browsing options beyond pickups, I’ve found sites like truck1.eu useful. They list a wide range of commercial and utility vehicles, including models like this Mercedes-Benz tipper—handy for seeing how other segments are evolving, too.

Not only that, toyota's pricing now tends to be the same, or higher than what you'd get in a similar domestic mid size truck with more hp., and towing capability. I'm still seeing a fair number of 3rd gen taco's racking up the miles here....they outnumber those nissan's, gm's, and fords all put together. Its the 4th gen sales that are in the toilet. I think too many are on the fence waiting to see how an artificially aspirated tacoma shakes out. Right now gm, and ford have a jump on them.
