It's in Central Texas along the Guadalupe River! A system moved in there then pretty much just sat there dumping 9-12 inches of rain before it finally moved out!

I remember when I was a kid the same thing happened in July of '87 it killed a bunch of kids in a church van who were there for youth camp and were trying to leave early ahead of the flood that time!

Central Texas is also known as The Hill Country and it's very prone to flooding because it's so hilly! I've been through there a few times and the hills are so steep and the roads are so windy it's almost like driving through mountainous areas!

I thought this was near San Antonio...last I knew that city was in south Texas?
As far as flooding, we have plenty of times flash flooding happened here with that much rain. If this were back in the 1950's before the army corp of engineers built a series of flood dams, we'd be in deep dodo also. Flood of 55 was monumental disaster wiping out the naugatuck valley of the state.
