Broken leaf spring on 97 Tacoma 4X4

The center leaf spring on the driver's side broke, so I need to replace my leaf springs. Going online, I see many different products, yet I don't know how to compare them. I see lifts of 1.5" - 4". Warranties are all over the place, from nothing to lifetime. I don't know what is stock on this...

    Air filter and smog test

I decided to put the new one in, as no one has mentioned what I previously read.... though what I previously read may have related to carb engines only.

    Air filter and smog test

Is it better to blow out my used air filter or put in a brand new one before having a smog test on my '97 Tacoma? I've read somewhere that a new filter lets too much air through and negatively impacts the test, but I can't find where I read that.

grease for '97 4WD Tacoma calipers

I rebuilt my calipers and replaced my pads. I used brake fluid as the lubricant for all internal caliper components. I used CarQuest Disc Brake Quiet #2065 between the anti-squeal plate and the pistons. I used Sil-Glyde BK-4 brake lubricant on the pins, between the pads and anti-squeal plates...

grease for '97 4WD Tacoma calipers

The FSM says use lithium soap base glycol grease for the piston parts and disc brake grease on the inner anti-squeal shim. I have Sil-Glyde BK-4 brake lubricant, Sta-Lube SL3301 brake caliper synthetic grease, Super Lube with PTFE (rated at 450°) and CarQuest Disc Brake Quiet #2065. Can I use...

    lower control arm cam removal

I need to replace the lower control arm of my 1997 2.7 Tacoma 4X4. Unfortunately, I discovered the adjustment cams running through the lower control arm bushings are frozen in place. I’m ordering new cams, but I’d like recommendations for removing the cams without too much effort or further...

    Noisy Power Steering Pump

Could it be a dirty filter on the bottom of the reservoir? I didn't know it was there when I did my flush last year. The fluid is clear/clean, and I haven't needed to add any fluid since I did the flush.

    Noisy Power Steering Pump

I hear a noise in my power steering pump. The sound isn’t necessarily there when I start my truck, but it starts erratically, until it is fairly steady. It is a low frequency growling, rather than the higher frequency sound an idler pulley makes when it starts to go out. I can feel the...
